APPLE SPICE LOAF WITH SALTED CIDER CARAMEL

Ingredients

Apple Spice Loaf:

2 cups Longo’s Organic All Purpose Flour

2 tsp Longo’s Essentials Ground Cinnamon

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp each ground cloves, allspice and salt

3/4 cup granulated sugar 

3/4 cup Longo’s 100% Pure Canola Oil 

3 Longo’s Free Run Large Brown Eggs

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup Longo’s Essentials Country Churned Salted Butter, melted

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups grated Ontario apple such as gala or Empire (about 2)

Directions

Frosting:

1/2 cup softened Longo’s Essentials Country Churned Salted Butter

4oz cream cheese

1 cup icing sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

Longo’s Maple Bourbon Walnuts (optional)

A Dash of Advice

Apple Spice Loaf: Grease and line 9 x 5-inch loaf pan with a strip of Longo’s Parchment Paper.

NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION

Once cool, caramel can be stored in refrigerator for up to 1 week. Rewarm gently in the microwave if too thick to drizzle. Leftover caramel can be served with cake, drizzled over ice cream or used as a dip for apple wedges.
